Through out this past year I have met quite a few entrepreneurs, who like myself have “Do It Yourself” marketing, sales, operations and accounting. Therefore each of the 24 days before Christmas I’ll be sending a little present from me to all of you DIY’ers. I hope you’ll find them useful in your marketing efforts next year. To my fellow colleagues please share your expertise in the comment section. To one and all enjoy.
One Size Does Not Fit All
Let’s start with this simple fact: There are no marketing “rules” or tips, which will fit your unique situation perfectly like a stretchy glove. Sorry, I know this gift is worse than gleefully ripping the wrapping paper off to find white, gym socks. Yes, just like the socks this is quite boring and worst of all, it too is tainted with the expectation that sweat will be involved. But there really is no short cut, no magic solution and no quick fix. You have to try different things and be willing to experiment, for some will fit and some won’t.
Here is my first present to you—a pass, to let yourself play and explore. Get ready to knock the cobwebs from your imagination and turn your creativity on. I’m giving you the freedom to experiment with no constraints. I’m throwing open my closet of ideas giving you the chance to try on a few to see if they fit you. Get a whiteboard or big pad of paper to use to jot down your ideas. We’re going to have fun for each day you will receive another tidbit to try on, think over and ponder.
