this is another quick post to see if i remember WordPress at all.
Throughout our daily routines of eating a meal, getting dressed, brushing our teeth and reading, we tend to forget to appreciate that all of these are benefits of living in a developed country. This concept was brilliantly demonstrated in the story told by Professor Hans Rosling, at TEDWomen in Washington DC in December 2010, about living above the economic washing machine line. The impact of increasing our carbon footprint is obvious if everyone lives above this line, although it would no doubt be an exceedingly rare individual who would be willing to forgo the benefits a washing machine brings to one’s life by providing us the leisure time to do things like read books.
Ann Hawkins, of Cambridge-based The Inspired Group, began the year asking us to reflect on this age-old question on LinkedIn. The discussion that followed dragged me personally back to contemplating my high school civics lessons and university philosophy lectures as I probed my current state of successfulness. This is the last of my branding presents for all of you “Do It Yourself” marketers. I put down in writing my approach and thinking on branding. Small business owners and entrepreneurs, you are the backbone of your communities and the driving force in our economy. You are the people whom we really cannot do without. These articles were my way of saying thanks. Sorry I could not cover more and had to gloss over quite a few details. It was frustrating not to be able to illustrate more detailed examples, but I found it impossible with the variety of industries and situations being so different.
